option: How many windows

Three windows seems be a good idea, but if you want to zoom, with the question "Identify destination window" many additional clicks are necessary.

A proposal:
main window - default "in work" window
second window- able to activated in the pull down "Window" with a new command
third window - view window only - command "Zoom window" here affects the "in work" window only

I would also use a one Window mode.

Thanks for your active contribution to CADEMIA.

In release 1.5 there will be a command SETLAYOUT that allows you to define your window layout. CADEMIA will start up with one window only. This has already been implemented in 1.5 which is under construction right now...

Thanks for your proposal concerning an efficient viewport manipulation, we will discuss it in the CADEMIA team.

Have you tried mouse strokes already? It is a very efficient technology to zoom windows. Just try the 2 click version and the three click version...

Dynamic window manipulation is also available. Just rotate the mouse wheel or pan with the mouse wheel pressed.
